Out of this world bars!

These bars are amazing.  At the bottom is the recipe.   Here are some pictures as I made them.  :)

The crust 'patted' down and ready to go in the oven!

Getting ready to mix...

All mixed!

Ready to go in the oven for a second time.

Baking away!

Cream cheese frosting!

Cream cheese frosting spread on top.

Yum!

These bars are really amazing!

Clean up time... :(

The recipe.

Out Of This World Bars!

Crust
3/4 cup butter
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 1/2 cups flour
dash salt

Mix and pat into a 9 x 13 inch pan.  Bake at 350 F for 10 minutes.

Filling
2 eggs beaten
2 tablespoons flour
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 cup dates,  cut fine.  (optional)
1 cup chopped pecans (optional)
1 teaspoon Vanilla

I usually do not add the pecans or dates and it tastes really good without.  I am sure it is also really good with the dates and pecans too.
Mix and spread  on hot crust and bake for 25 minutes at 350 F.   Let cool.

Frosting
4 tablespoons butter
3 oz cream cheese
2 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 almond flavoring (optional)

Spread over the cooled bars.

These bars are also really good if served a day later.

Puppy Pictures!

Moose (isn't he adorable?!)

Little 'Runtie'.  Her real name is Peppermint Patty but she is better known as 'Runtie'.  She is very prissy.

Essie!  She is a doll!

Tiger.  Check out those baby blues!

Fatso!  (Mr. Dramatic)

Speckles!   She is definitely the Sweet -n- Spicy one of the bunch
